The average age of menopause in the US is 51, with perimenopause occurring 6 to 10 years leading up to menopause. This period can be particularly challenging for women who may be working full-time, managing a household, and caregiving for children or aging parents. The “invisible load” that women carry as the primary caregivers adds pressure to an already chaotic time that is often riddled with emotional and physical symptoms. And then layer in the over 60 symptoms linked to perimenopause and menopause, it’s a wonder we can get through the day!
